My name is Garrie Ross, and I am originally from Carnoustie, Scotland.
I started my career in hospitality 26 years ago bottling up in pubs in my local area. I have worked in various pubs and clubs in my earlier years, and got into hotels at the age of 25. I have worked in 3-star 4-star and 5-star properties holding numerous positions ranging from F&B to Front Office and Revenue. My main passion is the Food and Beverage operation.
I went back to college at the age of 30 and I finished a HNC in business studies.
I have two children Gracie 9 and Oliver 6 they are my world, Oh and QPR FC I am football crazy! Spending time with my children and watching Football are my hobbies and one of my secret talents is that I can Juggle.
I applied for a Bar Managers job 2 and half years ago as I wanted to make a step into the 5-star hotel market the rest is history!
It is very much like a family culture and we definitely look after our own here you can see that from the internal promotions that happen.
I am really proud of how I grew the bar at Conrad and raised its profile and the Team we have all created her at the CONRAD! And I am very proud to be part of the Splendid Family.

I have work-life balance for the first time in my hospitality career! I work 5 days a week roughly 9 or 10 hours a day.

The fact I can be myself.
I think the project I was set regarding the Blue Boar Bar by Mr Bailey at my interview, which was to increase the revenue and raise the standards and have a happy team, I certainly achieved that.
