Distillery Bar (Assistant Bar Manager)

We are now looking for a confident and passionate Assistant Bar Manager  to join our Distillery Bar  within our award-winning team at Hilton London Bankside.

Position Purpose

  • We are currently looking for an individual with a true passion for service. You will engage with guests and ensure they have an exceptional time, and always look out for new ways of improving the service and atmosphere in our restaurant. Key Responsibilities

When working as Assistant Bar Manager you will be the person in charge for the guest journey during our guest’s time in our Distillery Bar. You will also;

  • Have full knowledge of the food and drink offering in the Bar
  • Liaise with all team members and the kitchen to ensure swift and efficient food and drink service to the tables
  • Assist with training and stock takes and ensure we have adequate stock for the shift
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all menu items provided and identifying opportunities for up-selling and promoting when appropriate;
  • Ensure team members work together and communicate to provide a continuously high standard of service to our guests
  • Maintain regular checks of Food & Beverage products in the bar area.
  • Ensuring guests expectations are met by providing 5-star hospitable service through innovation, team work & operational meetings.
  • To respond to customer request & queries, resolve them & empower & support team members to do the same.
  • Stay current with relevant legislation regarding service of alcohol & licensing.
  • Monitor the bar and take appropriate actions to ensure food & beverage quality & service standards are met.
  • Maintain regular checks on the safe & correct storage of all food & beverage  products in the bar area
  • Check developed cleaning schedules are followed and maintained in all areas of the bar.
  • Maintain & report health & safety in the bar areas
  • Maintain regular communication with staff & management through meetings & discussions & ensure the team receive adequate briefings




Person Specification

  1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Preferred –
    • Excellent command of spoken English
    • Strong customer focus and ability to engage and connect with guests
    • Ability to multitask and prioritise
    • Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns
    • A desire to provide exceptional customer service
    • Excellent planning and organizing skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  •  Exceptional –
    • Great attention to detail
    • Ability to speak additional languages is highly desirable
    • Strong leadership skills; having worked in a supervisory role previously is an advantage
  1. Proven Experience/Education Level
  • Previous experience working in Food & Beverage , preferably within luxury hotel properties
  • Proficiency with computers and systems
