Assistant Restaurant Manager

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Restaurant Manager for our fabulous restaurant, The Rise

Position Purpose

To maintain the restaurant and bar as a thriving hub for the hotel. Focusing on impeccable service, building and coaching a strong floor team and supporting the Restaurant Manager in his day to day duties, both operationally and administratively. To create a culture of success, which is bred from human level relationships from the leadership down to the most junior of levels ensuring everyone is accountable and responsible for that success whilst understanding their roles and what this success looks like.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Restaurant Manager will have great people skills, genuine charisma and a passion for hospitality. Being fully competent at both the administration side of the business but also leading by example and assisting the team during service times and pushing the Restaurant forward. Good communication skills are imperative with guests and both the floor and kitchen teams.
  • A good grasp of Revenue and budgets is essential to the role. Making sure the rota is completed in line with budget and developing staff through upselling to ensure financial targets are met on a daily basis. In the absence of the Restaurant Manager the Assistant Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the restaurant and will be accountable for every aspect of the business including attending relevant meetings and taking on the Managers responsibilities.
  • Health and Safety is key to the running of the restaurant and its upkeep. Flagging any concerns and action them accordingly whilst liaising with the onsite maintenance Team. Undertaking the role of Duty Manager on a weekly basis and ensuring the Hotel adheres to proper practice and guest safety is paramount.
  • To ensure the smooth running of the business, whilst maintaining guest expectations and helping the restaurant continue to thrive and grow.  Ensuring AA training is practised day to day and all staff are aware of the level of service that is required. Implementing staff incentives and ensuring the team is as passionate about their job as you are resulting in a happy team and 5* service standards.
  • At the Rise we invest a lot of our time in staff development, focusing on the individuals, their needs and if we have given them the tools they require. This role will help develop the team and answer any service related questions and help the team thrive into their full potential.

Person Specification

1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Managerial experience to a 5* standard. Excellent time management. Exceptional customer service skills.

 

Preferred - To have a good level of spoken English with experience of hotel/restaurant management experience

 

Exceptional – First class 5* customer service skills, confident mediator on all levels, sommelier experience or an extensive wine knowledge

 

2. Proven Experience/Education Level

Fully conversant in English language

Previous, high volume restaurant experience
