Are you ready for your next exciting career move? Splendid Hospitality Group, one of the UKs fastest growing privately-owned hotel groups, is looking for a Breakfast Chef for our new Mercure Leeds Centre hotel in Leeds City Centre where guest care and service is at the forefront of all tasks undertaken.

You'll need to be an early bird as most guests will expect you at your stove and flipping eggs by 6am. That said, even if you're helping with prep for the main kitchen, you should be wrapped up by 2pm. You'll probably work a five-day rota, which means working some weekends.

Let's face it, to be successful as a breakfast chef, you need to be happy to get up early and reliably prompt when turning up for work. It goes without saying that you should enjoy cooking and preparing food and will probably be ambitious to move into the main kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking breakfast
  • Sometimes manning the breakfast buffet
  • Ordering stock for the kitchen
  • Stock rotation and checks
  • Receiving and checking deliveries
  • Adhere to food safety policy
  • Complete food safety records
  • Drive food GP conversion

Person Specification

  • Food safety level 2 qualified
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently
  • Ability to manage and monitor stock levels
  • Multi-tasking is essential
  • Team-player

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  •  Preferred - A passion for food and ability to work independently
  •  Exceptional - An understanding of health and safety and food safety regulations

Proven Experience/Education Level

  • Proven experience in a kitchen
  • Previous experience in Health & Safety, First Aid
