Business Development Manager

We are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join the fantastic team at Holiday Inn Wembley

Position Purpose

Identify sales leads, pitch goods or services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts while communicating new product developments to prospective clients, overseeing the development of marketing literature with focus on MICE and conference business

Key Responsibilities

  • Work pro-actively within the Sales team to ensure a high level of MICE clients are sourced, contracted and receive pro-active account management at all times.
  • Account management of Top 10 producers, by creating detailed account development plans
  • Ensure that all requirements of the role are completed to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and IHG brand standard compliance
  • Proactively source new clients, and conduct Show-rounds, FAM visits ensuring a high level of MICE clients always. All processes ensuring accuracy and adherence to all required IHG Brand Standards
  • Ensure all clients receive a warm, hospitable and welcoming service leading them to become loyal customers

Person Specification

1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Experience in Account Management of large corporate bookings
  • Understanding of the London M&E market
  • Identify and instigate client meetings/interactions via research and telephone sales
  • Natural flair for networking, self-driven and enthusiastic about success in their role


  • Previous experience of working within an events, sales and marketing role for an events/venue company
  • Ideally with contacts in your back pocket to contact but there is also a ready made portfolio to work on

2. Proven Experience/Education Level

  • Intermediate level of understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Advance understanding of sales tools i.e. Salesforce, Delphi
  • Intermediate level on PMS/S&C systems
  • Be experienced and knowledgeable in relation to a traditional sales process
