Set in the heart of Bankside, just steps from some of London’s most famous landmarks such as Tate Modern, Borough Market and The Shard. Hilton London Bankside is home to 292, and one beautiful penthouse apartment, which boasts its own private roof terrace, a 100m2 entertainment area and views across the London skyline.

The hotel also brings a new neighbourhood eatery, the OXBO Bankside Restaurant, to the area, alongside The Distillery, a cool and casual bar. As well as, the breath-taking 570m² ballroom, and stunning event rooms space which can accommodate a variety of events, from small and intimate, to larger-scale, more spectacular celebrations and gala dinners, catering from 8 to 700 guests.

Chef de Partie 

We are currently looking for a reliable and ambitious Chef de Partie who loves cooking and enjoys the challenge of working in a high-end market to join our professional and friendly team at the Hilton London Bankside, OXBO restaurant. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic kitchen environment, and the perfect step forwards in your culinary career.

Key Responsibilities:

When working as a Chef de Partie, your main role is to ensure the smooth running of foodservice operations and create high quality food to meet guest expectations. You will also;

  • Ensure that a high standard of preparations and presentation is achieved before any dish leaves the kitchen.
  • Check kitchen stock and control on a daily basis.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept at all times relating to the food production and wastage, for all service periods.
  • Ensure that all foods are labelled, stored and handled in accordance with the Hotel and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ensure all hygiene, health and safety standards are adhered to and the Hotel’s Health & Safety policy are complied with.
  • Make sure the wastage is kept to a minimum at all times.
  • Menus must be followed to ensure all financial targets are achieved.
  • Be constantly aware of new ideas and create new dishes for OXBO
  • Complete all required training (Food Hygiene & Safety, Health & Safety & Fire Safety) via the Saeker Training Programme
  • Co-operate with all staff and management to provide a smooth and efficient service

Person Specification

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Able to work with relevant hygiene, health & safety guidelines
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with team and customers
  • Sound organisational skills with the ability to identify and juggle priorities
  • Be positive, punctual, reliable and have a positive attitude
  • Strong customer awareness and focus
  • Available to work weekends and shifts

Proven experience/education level

  • Previous kitchen experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or similar is preferable
  • Previous experience in a luxury environment is preferable
  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation & Cookery (or equivalent) if preferred but not essential
