Commercial Finance Leader, Splendid Restaurants, Head Office

We are currently looking for a new Commercial Finance Leader to lead the financial planning, analysis and financial performance across the group’s current KFC portfolio and any future business. This includes responsibility for budgeting, forecasting and commentary on monthly results while identifying opportunities to enhance top and bottom line performance. Partnering with the MD and Operations Directors and other senior stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes

Your role in our family:

Key responsibilities within your role:

  • Provide the business with clear, easily digestible Monthly business performance reports that clearly identify detailed current performance vs. plan
  • Maintain close scrutiny of the key commercial drivers of EBITDA ensuring threats and opportunities are identified in a timely manner and actions taken to maintain alignment with budget.
  • Ensure that the restaurant investment decisions are taken with sufficient analysis and risk modelling to deliver investment at a minimum of 95% consented sales and flow through.
  • Identifying key commercial drivers of actual results and reasons for variance against budget, creating an “Act on Fact” mentality across the teams.
  • Budgets developed with threats and opportunities to achieving budget identified in an actionable timeframe.   
  • Owns the development Investment case packs to ensure heavy scrutiny and risk modelling to ensure delivery of project against consented projections.
  • Builds and continually refines the business case P&L model across the estate so pace setter performance can be used to robustly describe the opportunity gap.
  • Monthly reforecasting of expected annual outturn to a high degree of confidence.
  • Challenge underperformance whilst maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure Restaurant General Managers, Area coaches, Operations Directors, MD and CFO are provided with relevant commercial management information and insight on a timely basis.
  • Leverage KFC Woking office for BI and best practice insight while building network and influencing consensus across KFC Franchisee system

What we are looking for

  • The ability to lead teams and drive real change.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to influence outcomes and take responsibility for them.
  • Excellent communicator, building powerful relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self starter with a strong desire for personal development.
  • Prior experience in branded foodservice / QSR / Casual dining essential.
  • Experience of operating in a similar role and in particular, leading real change to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
