Events Sales Office Manager / Senior Events Coordinator

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and pro active Events Sales Office Manager to head the Events Team at the 5 Star Grand Hotel and Spa.

Position Purpose

The role of the Events Sales Office Manager is to lead a peak performing events team to ensure that all event enquiries are qualified quickly and communicated effectively to the hotel operations. You will significantly grow meeting room occupancy and revenue per available space, with a pro-active approach to identify and close any gap in business.

Key Responsibilities

  • To create and lead an ambitious, driven, caring and pro-active events sales team through one:ones and team meetings.
  • Provide forecasting and reporting on Meetings and Events revenue highlighting potential risk periods in advance and working closely with the Sales Manager and Director of Sales to eliminate any risk.
  • To manage the day to day operations of the events sale team, ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are in place and processes are being followed.
  • Manage and implement a rate demand calendar to ensure we are yielding effectively.
  • Increase conversion rates, revenue per meeting room and meeting room occupancy.
  • To ensure that all event business is communicated accurately to the operational team.
  • Handle, convert and coordinate key meeting and event enquiries.
  • Ensure all billing and payments of conferences and events is coordinated and communicated.
  • Deliver a pro-active sales culture within the office.

Person Specification

1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Be pro-active and extremely organised.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills at all levels
  • Be able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high levels of performance and exceed targets.
  • Be capable of building fast, strong and robust relationships with clients and colleagues.

2. Proven Experience/Education Level

  • To be commercially aware and to be able to demonstrate the understanding of core revenue management for meeting and events.
  • Must have experience of working within a busy conference office, preferably at a luxury level.
  • Ideally have experience of working with Opera Sales and Catering.
