General Manager - Pre-Opening (Accor Hotels)

Splendid Hospitality Group are looking for a driven General Manager to lead the brand new ibis Styles, Heathrow Airport East and join us at a very exciting time within our rapidly growing business.

Position Purpose

  • Leading the team at ibis Styles. You will primarily be challenged with supporting an agreed sales and revenue strategy, but primarily controlling costs and ensuring profitability within the business. However, importantly, you will also be responsible for ensuring staff training is delivered consistently and regularly to guarantee quality food and beverage produce, great service and impeccable front and back of house standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate, train and motivate hotel team to achieve hotel revenue goals. Ensure staff have the information, market data, tools and equipment to successfully carry out their duties.
  • Ensure consistent and predictable bottom line results for the hotel through exemplary cost control;
  • To ensure the hotel has the right people, in the right place at the right time as demonstrated by a fully compliant People Balance Scorecard;
  • Run a responsible business as demonstrated by full compliance with external legislative and statutory requirements as well as internal operational control checks
  • Deliver unidentified needs resulting in all green winning metrics and/or above target Trustyou scores
  • Run a responsible business delivering expected audit results as well as actively engaging in the local community.
  • Leading the team’s development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel. Provide regular direction and manage hotel in all departments. This will include drafting of annual budgets and preparation of monthly Profit & Loss reports.
  • Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty.
  • Review guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for VIP arrivals, large groups and other key guests.

  • Knowledge and understanding of hotel IT systems, PMS & POS, as well as revenue extranet and channel manager applications
  • Previous experience in Health & Safety, Fire Safety

 Exceptional -

  • Aptitude in financial management, financial reports and analysis
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial, proactive, and commercial approach to business development
  • Strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
  • The ability to motivate other members of staff
  • Basic understanding of a P&L and ability to identify cost trends and opportunities to
  • General knowledge of local market and segmentation
  • Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example work style
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and late nights.

2. Proven Experience/Education Level

  • Qualification in Business Administration, Hotel/Hospitality Management or relevant field
  • Proven experience in a General Manager position
