Guest Service Assistant

The Grand Hotel & Spa York

We are now looking for a part time Guest Service Assistant/Lobby Host to join the fantastic team at the 5* The Grand Hotel & Spa York, Yorks only 5* property.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be the first point of call for all guests coming through the main lobby of the hotel, providing direction and assistance as required
  • To work well under pressure and with great sense of urgency towards the guest experience
  • Ability to prioritise workload & communicate effectively with the front of house and concierge team to ensure a seamless arrival for all guests
  • To liaise with Guest Relations Manager/Executive to prepare for all arrivals in the upcoming 3 days
  • To answer phone calls in a timely and friendly manner

Person Specification

1.  Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner
  • Ability to remain calm during difficult situations or in a very busy environment
  • The ability to work as part of team or alone
  • Good administrative skills and IT literacy
  • Experience using a Property Management System
  • To be discreet, diplomatic, reliable and trustworthy
  • Have a good command of written and spoken English
  • You must be eligible to live and work in the UK
  • Must be able to work on full time basis, must be flexible to work on rota basis

2.  Proven experience/education level

  • Previous customer service experience in hospitality industry is preferable
