Responsible directly to the Cluster General Manager, this position is ideal for a senior head of department seeking their first hotel managers role!

The role will include full General Manager development in a company with a developing portfolio and progressive development team

About us:

The hotel has 77 bedrooms, with a regularly used meeting space. It's location is ideal for either access to the M1 / M62 & A1. 30 mins drive, from Sheffield, Bradford and York

Your role in our family:

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assist ClusterGeneral Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel to ensure optimum guest satisfaction, sales potential and profitability.
  2. Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty.
  3. Direct day-to-day activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognise good performance.
  4. Educate, train and motivate hotel staff while ensuring they have the information, market data, tools and equipment to successfully carry out job duties.
  5. Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with hotel and/or company rules and policies.
  6. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with key department heads.
  7. Interact with guests and individuals outside the hotel, including, but not limited to, current and potential clients, owning company representatives, community leaders, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers, competitors and other members of the local community.
  8. Ensure highest level of guest satisfaction by providing quality guest services and amenities.
  9. Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel assets in compliance with owners’ policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain relations with outside contacts.
  10. Act as public relations representative to raise awareness of hotel and brand in local community. Drive team member involvement in community organisations, activities and businesses.
  11. Develop and carry out action plans to be environmentally conscious by taking steps to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
  13. The roles shift pattern will include working 5 days out of 7 and will include weekends and evenings.
