    Hotel Indigo Edinburgh are looking for a Night Auditor, to join their team

    Position Purpose

    • To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out the full check in and check out processes in a seamless manner for all of our guests.
    • Ensure you are fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel and to pass this information onto the guest whenever the possibility arises in order to maximise hotel sales.
    • Have a full working knowledge of the IHG Rewards programme and its benefits, taking every opportunity to enrol new members.
    • Whenever possible to anticipate guest needs, to be aware of all written and spoken requests and to carry out these requests in a courteous and helpful manner.
    • Ensure that all charges are correctly posted to the guests’ bills following the standard procedures.
    • Ensure the float handed over is checked and correct. Ensure all messages received for guests and passed on accurately and as quickly as possible.
    • Ensure a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained.
    • Assume responsibility for the building during the night and adhere to all relevant health and safety procedures.
    • Undertake and review end of day takings against logged reports.

    • Edit all reporting to full completion and accuracy.

    • Investigate any anomalies found between daily reports and takings.


    Person Specification

    1. Knowledge, skills and abilities

    • Friendly and welcoming approaching
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner
    • Ability to remain calm during difficult situations or in a very busy environment
    • IT literacy - intermediate user knowledge of Microsoft Office (including outlook) and experience using internet portals.
    • Experience using a Property Management System.
    • Have a good command of written and spoken English
    • Be eligible to work in the UK on full time and rota basis

    2. Proven Experience/Education Level

    • Previous customer service experience in hospitality industry is preferable
