easyHotel Reading are looking for a new part-time receptionist to join our Front Office team. The number of hours are negotiable and we are a close knit team, always willing to help each other out with a real family atmosphere!

Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to welcome guests, check them in as well as provide them all information they need to have great and memorable stay. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services, optional extras and room location.
  • Answer, record and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns.
  • Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.
  • Follow hotel health and safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incident, security breaches, concerns or suspicious behaviour to the supervisor or manager on duty.
  • Book guest reservations for individuals that are requested either by phone or from within the hotel; process cancellations, amendments, and information updates on changes.
  • Work as part of a team and communicate with other hotel departments,
  • Perform regular security checks throughout the hotel,

Person Specification

1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to remain calm during difficult situation
  • Good administrative skills
  • Friendly and welcoming approaching with an excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner
  • IT literacy - intermediate user knowledge of Microsoft Office (including outlook) and experience using cloud-based systems,
  • Have a good command of written and spoken English.
  • Experience using a Property Management System Hetras would be an advantage
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Must be flexible to work on rota basis

2. Proven Experience/Education Level

  • Previous customer service experience in hospitality industry is preferable
