After an incredible transformation from a £20M development programme and the hotel doubling in size to 207 guest rooms, this is an exciting opportunity to join the hotels sales team focusing on the MICE segment.

If you are passionate about MICE sales, tenacious and want to represent the luxury hotel of the North, then this could be the role for you. We will consider Sales Executive, Sales Manager and Senior Sales Manager applications.

The role will report into the DOS but will work closely with the Assistant Director of Sales and our team of onsite event executives to deliver the MICE budget for the hotel. Account management, new business, client hospitality and representing the hotel at key trade shows and exhibitions relating to your segment will all form part of your role.

You will be part of a team of 12 which consists of pro-active, re-active and admin support, where learning & development opportunities are in abundant along with reward and recognition and bonus scheme for peak performers.

Working with MICE agents and direct bookers you will deliver the MICE budget through a consistent pipeline of opportunities, be an ambassador of The Grands status as “A Palace of Business” and be prepared to travel nationally on a regular basis.

Position Purpose

  •   To deliver the MICE budget through pro-active sales activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver the MICE budget through pro-active sales activity.
  • To maintain a consistent pipeline of MICE opportunities.
  • Conduct sales calls on a daily/weekly basis to potential meeting and event bookers (Agency and Direct)
  • Drive loyalty and repeat business through effective account management.
  • Conduct hotel presentations, face to face meetings and site visits, telesales calls to key event bookers (Agency and Direct)
  • Represent the hotel at key MICE trade shows and other industry events.
  • Account management of key MICE accounts

  • The ability to travel throughout the UK on a regular basis

Preferred

  • Proven experience of winning MICE business through pro-active activity.
  • Has existing relationships with key MICE buyers
  • Proficiency in opera S&C and salesforce.
