Senior Cluster Accountant

Key to this role is being able to lead and develop the Cluster Accountants to deliver transformational change across our KFC restaurants. Reporting into the Director of Financial Reporting & Control, you will ensure that the financial information relating to the Group is recorded and reported accurately and on time, whilst also providing financial expertise to the Cluster Accountants and the wider group, including developing accounting policies and practices.

Salary: £40-45k

Your role in our family:

Key responsibilities to your role: 

  • Process journals, post accruals & pre-payments and delivery of accurate periodic management accounts on a timely basis
  • Consolidated monthly management accounts produced and issued in line with reporting timetable.
  • Monthly review of KFC Head office P&Ls.
  • Assist with the preparation of HSBC MI.
  • Perform periodic Balance sheet reconciliations including inter-company accounts and bank accounts.
  • Strong and trusting relationships established with all key stakeholders, including Senior Management, Commercial Finance, Internal Heads of Department, General Managers and internal/external auditors.
  • 100% compliance with all internal control procedures.
  • Lead team of Cluster accountants. Provide coaching, support and challenge to enable their development in line with organisational goals.
  • Drive transformational change in financial reporting through streamlining systems and processes.
  • Ensure that all financial reporting is timely and accurate. In particular, the consolidated monthly management accounts need to be issued in line with the strict month end timetable.
  • Understand the drivers of EBITDA for KFC restaurants, including Key Performance Indicators. Communicate trends and opportunities to improve EBITDA with the Commercial finance team in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Implement new control recommendations arising from internal/external audits and ensure compliance with existing policies.
  • Adhoc financial projects.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to lead teams and drive transformational change.
  • Strong technical accountant with an ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, building strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to contribute to wider Splendid Group goals.
  • A commercial outlook to the role such that deliverables add value and insight to the business.
  • A strong desire for personal development.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience of successfully leading teams is essential, whilst experience in a similar role will be an advantage.
