An amazing opportunity for an exceptional Senior Sous Chef, reporting to our Executive Chef, to help to lead our kitchen brigade in York’s only 5* star hotel.
You’ll ensure our Guests’ expectations are exceeded in all of our outlets, and you will inspire your team and your peers. We’re looking for a Senior Sous Chef who is driven by talent, as well as a desire to build and innovate their team, and help provide the highest standard of product and service.
The Property:
Built in 1906, The Grand is York’s only five-star hotel. Located within York’s city walls and with views of York Minster, the hotel holds an enviable and proud position in the city and local community.
Along with our 207 guest rooms, there’s the award-winning Rise Restaurant, The Rise Bar & Terrace, Hudson’s Restaurant, a state-of-the-art Cookery School, The 1906 Bar & Lounge, our executive White Rose Lounge, an atmospheric Spa, stunning Meeting and Event spaces and In-Room Dining. Why you?
You will already be a Senior Sous Chef in a large business with an award winning restaurant, and can demonstrate your exceptional communication skills and an ability to assist our Executive Chef in his operations.
You will have experience of operating food outlets, ensuring consistency of standards and food safety. You will design menus that will both delight guests and be commercially astute and must hold a Food Safety level 3 qualification.
