Wedding & Special Events Sales Executive

We are looking for a Weddings and Special Events Sales Executive to join our Sales Team!

Working as part of our events sales team, you will be responsible for generating and converting enquiries relating to weddings, special events and Christmas. 

The role has overall responsibility for the sales segment and will be required to take initial enquiries, conduct site visits and co-ordinate the full event to ensure that a smooth handover is given to our operations team.

The overall “role purpose” of the Wedding & Special Event Sales Executive is to generate profitable sales through pro-active and re-active sales activity which results in exceeding our sales budget.

Position Purpose

To generate profitable sales through pro-active and re-active sales activity. Based within the events team your focus will be to deliver and exceed the sales budget for weddings, banqueting, special events and Christmas. You will generate your own sales leads and see it through from enquiry to completion including conversion of the enquiry and coordination of the event; prior to handing over to the operations team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Significantly increases sales relating to weddings, special events and Christmas on a local, national and global scale.
  2. Ensures a strong and fast flowing pipeline of profitable business, which relates to weddings, special events and Christmas. 
  3. Significantly increases the weekend occupancy of function spaces within the hotel. 
  4. Delivers a high level of regular, frequent, accurate and timely communication to all related departments regarding the events function within the hotel. 

Person Specification

1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Preferred

Knowledge of Opera system

Essential

Excellent communication, both verbally and written

Highly organised and have the ability to work under pressure

Is sales focused and can demonstrate results

Portray a positive attitude with a personable approach with a willingness to “get things done” 

Proven experience/education level

 

Essential: Experience of coordinating weddings and special events within a 4 or 5 star environment for a minimum of 18 months
