Job Description


A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for a Luxury Leisure Sales Manager to join us at The Grand, York. The hotel represents the highest of five-star standards and is a proud member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving high-end, high-rated rooms revenue into the hotel from domestic and key international markets. You will represent the hotel around the world with an aim of us becoming the destination and hotel of choice for the inbound luxury leisure traveller.
Supporting us in driving inbound leisure sales you will execute and deliver the inbound sales strategy with a focus on two core markets: North America (including Canada) and Asia.
Key responsibilities include participating in sales calls to the luxury travel agent community, making and conducting appointments, representing the hotel at key industry trade shows such as ILTM and Virtuoso Travel Week and driving business through consortia programmes such as Virtuoso, Internova, and Serandipians by Traveller Made. A knowledge of these consortia programmes would be advantageous. You will manage the hotels day to day relationship with key bodies such as Selected Escapes, Celebrated Experiences, Visit York and Visit Britain for the benefit of the business. You will be able to identify and develop new key partnerships, have experience of building long term value led relationships and be prepared to travel internationally up to 12 weeks of the year. In addition, you will have experience of working with a global sales distribution network and have the skills to influence said network to positively impact the business.
You will be the account manager for the leisure tours business and be pro active in securing new tours.
A strong relationship with the hotel is key and you will be expected to host client appointments, site visits and familiarisation trips.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leisure sales professional to lead the inbound sales segment for one of the most iconic hotels in the North of England.

Experience
• Previous experience of the UK luxury leisure market.
• Proven experience of delivering new business.
• Experience of working with key leisure consortia programmes (IE Virtuoso).
• A good working knowledge of Opera PMS advantageous.
