Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has become available at Hotel Indigo York, to join our Front of House team as a Night Auditor. This role is full time with flexible working working 4 days over 7, meaning that you get 3 days off per week. As part of your role, you will oversee the nights operations in the hotel, including check in and check outs, bar and 24-hour room service duties. You will ensure that all safety and fire prevention procedures are always observed to ensure the daily hotel trading is accounted for, and balanced.


You will be fully trained and welcomed to the hotel, and supported throughout your journey, with rewarding development on offer during your journey and training plan.

About Us

Hotel Indigo, York hotel is a unique and trendy hotel set in the heart of York. The hotel boasts 103 unique bedrooms, with a funky and trendy Restaurant and Bar named No.88 Walmgate.
The team is very passionate, enthusiastic, and very energetic! The culture in the hotel is very important, and that is; trying to deliver the Hotel’s goals and objectives whilst at the same time creating a fun and great work/life balance for all!
York Train station is easily accessible, the hotel is a 12 minute walk from the Train Station. There are plenty of drop off points all throughout York for bus routes in and out of the city, with a main bus route running past the hotel on Walmgate.

Role in our Family

  • To receive a full hand over from the Duty Manager and or Receptionist at the start of your shift
  • Complete the night audit and daily banking, challenge or query any shortages and work with Finance to resolve any issues
  • Ensure a minimum of three fire walks are completed during the night shift, reporting any issues on the DM report
  • To Administer cash and float checks in an accurate manor and to report and implement any training identified through these checks
  • To action confidently any guest queries and or complaints, following this up with the relevant department and or individual
  • Assist guests in drinks or food service during the night, using your own initiative and training if you need to close the bar and or refuse service
  • Work through and complete all SOP’s for the night reports, and distribute accordingly
  • Work through the guest ledger, take deposits and allocate payments for bookings that have landed and ensure guests are communicated to and from when messages and or emails are received via OTA’s or direct communications
  • Assist the set up of the breakfast buffet with support from the morning chef, and hand over to the restaurant team
  • Prepare hand over and briefing for incoming Duty Manager and or Receptionist
