Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician/Handyman, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel, ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests, and handling various general maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, grounds maintenance, and more.

Health and safety is a key aspect of this role, which includes completing H&S paperwork to ensure compliance, overseeing water safety to prevent legionella, and ensuring fire safety through fire training and other preventative measures.
This is a 24-hour position, with working days and hours to be discussed during the interview to accommodate both parties.

About Us

We are a modern 77 bedroom hotel just near Oulton/Rothwell villages. We are looking for a hands on, can do personality to complement our small but high performing team.

Role in our Family

Key responsibilities to your role:

• Liaise with Management/Housekeeping Team and staff to carry out required painting, redecoration and general maintenance duties.
• Carry out preparation/repair/application of finishing products as necessary.
• Undertake both responsive and planned maintenance of painting and decoration
• Execute workmanship using own initiative, to a high standard and ensure it is carried out in strict compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and any other relevant legislation covering safety in the workplace for self and others.
• Carry out inspections of occupied and empty rooms to determine the extent of painting, decoration and general maintenance required.
• Carry out all necessary administrative work.
• Monitoring and reporting weekly/monthly H&S tasks on Health and Safety Portal
• To keep supervisory staff aware of progress and problems in a timely manner.
• Good level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift, work at heights and in differing conditions.
• To undertake all training as required (e.g. first aid, health and safety, customer service).
