The charming property features grounds and 53 contemporary rooms across the original Victorian house, the new wing and the converted stable block with a selection of rooms including its own private balcony or patio.

Job Description

The Kitchen Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will have a flexible approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in basic food preparation, such as chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and assembling ingredients.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and sanitising equipment.
• Support chefs by ensuring food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated following food safety standards.
• Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and adhere to recycling procedures.
• Assist in unloading and storing deliveries to maintain correct stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
• Help with plating and presentation during busy service periods.
• Follow instructions from the Chef and complete tasks efficiently.
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

• We do not have a kitchen porter on site so washing the dishes will be a part of this role.
• Be competent in managing food safety 
• Be the guardian of food standards across the whole hotel
• Produce menus according to brand standards and maintain the allengen matrix.

Person Specifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment preferred but not essential.
• Understanding of basic food hygiene practices (training can be provided).
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
